The red head looked around, bright blue eyes flashing. She knew some of their 'group' had already left, but today was her day to go into the forest. She tied her money bag around her waist, beneath her dark coat, and took a deep breath. Trying to look as inconspicuous as possible, she slowly lifted one dark boot and marched on.

Ella approached the girl, smiling slightly and nodding in greeting

Kristen had been walking around when she saw the pair. She didn't realize who they were at first and began following them from a distance, until she caught sight of their faces. She sped up and fell into step beside Poppy (right?). "Hi," she said softly, "where are you going?"

She smiled, said quickly, "back in a moment," and sprinted home as fast as she could. She had already packed a bag for this trip ages ago, just in case. She swung the backpack over her shoulder and, not even a minute after she had left, appeared back at Poppy's side. "Let's go."

Kristen's heart pounded in her chest, but this, doing something, being brave, it just felt right. She'd never done anything like it.
