the king sighed. "not here." he glared at a few of the houses, shamelessly eavesdropping.
walking into a deserted room with his family in tow, he said, "August, you will be marrying Jade Aestarno. Columbus, you will marry Alena Titanos. Devon, miss Thaliana Noelle." He stopped and waited for any objections, even though he wouldn't listen/

Lia waited, eager for this thing to end. She didn't expect to get chosen, and she didn't want to get chosen, she just wanted to go home and relax. She hated big fancy events like this. She tugged at the skirt of her uncomfortable gown before her mother slapped her hand, gesturing for her to pay attention. She sighed and looked up at the royal family.

Jade waited eagerly. She didn't expect to be chosen, but even just having the opportunity was good for her. Being chosen by/for one of the princes would be amazing, obviously.
