chandler was about to leave with emerson. they were off to her house before they would set off to go find locke, in stilts. chandler could only hope that emerson was loyal, and that locke would stay put.

she gave a quick nod before casually slipping out from behind tye apple vendor. she had an impassive look on her face, and she confidently stride along the edge of the road, giving those who glaced her way the usual emerson look: narrowed brown eyes and a frown, as if daring those looking at her to do so any longer. finally, she reached a small, worn down looking hut. probably the least appealing of all the other worn red huts. she slipped inside, hoping chandler was following. finally she'd turn and spread out her arms. "welcome to my home," she said, a sad egde to her voice, stony face melting away.

she shrugged, and turned around, busying herself. the girl would hurry over to a small bed, almost the only thing in the house, and grab a small, well worn leather satchel. she'd slip the rock she'd been fingering into the bag, along with a small pocket knife, a gift from her brother. she would then walk over to the only other bed in the house, almost unnoticeable because it was hidden behind a curtain. she slipped behind it and took a seat, running her hand over the comforters, smoothing them with a tender hand. she fluffed the pillow, gave one last look at the bed, a look of loss and sadness in her eyes, before putting on her tough mask again and emerging from behind the curtain.
she nodded to chandler, before turning back the curtains and pulling with all her weight, until the curtains ripped from the ceiling. she let it hang there, ripped and dangling, before pushing over the bed, so it was turned on its side. she flung the pillow across the room and then moved to her own bed. it was old and weak, like all the other furniture in her house, she when she got up on it and jumped a few times, it splintered and snapped in half. she threw the sheets off the bed and attempted to tear the pillow, which was pretty easy as it was the flimsiest thing. she moved over to the kitchen and threw open the cupboards, spilling the few things of food she had left. she kicked the wood under the sink and it gave in, leaving a foot shaped hole. when the house looked thoroughly destroyed, she turned to chandler. "let's go. make of this as they will, but they definitely won't come looking for me." she was good at covering her tracks. she narrowed mocha eyes and looked over chandler. "trust me."

"you think i'm changing my mind now that i've wrecked my house? i don't think so. you're stuck with me," she said. before returning her focus to the first statement. she nodded. "yeah, you don't have to worry about me."

( hm well their destination is stilts, right? well they have to travel through the village and then down to the path to the next village ) emerson attempted to grab chandler by the wrist, as she heard foot-steps. she pulled her into a scraggly bush and crouched low, watching as a red walked by and climbed the ladder up into his house. after a few minutes of silence, she let out a breath. "close call,"

she nodded, a scowl findings its way on her face. "silvers could be anywhere," she grumbled, before carefully removing herself from the bush. / basically to refresh it in your unread replies c:
