Devon let his flames go out and he put his hands over his face and took a deep breath. "i wish everyone would STOP calling me that!" he blurted out, and he knew that he had a rant coming on and he could really do nothing to stop it. "i'm SICK and TIRED of having EVERYONE treat me like i'm something special, because i'm *ing not! i'm literally just a kid, i'm *ing younger than you, for *s sake! like, dude, seriously. i known, i'm like royalty and that * but really??" he paused. "i mean serious, listen to me practicing my *ing vocabulary, i'm like the worst example of royalty,," he blushed, realizing that he'd said all and put his face in his hands again. he's had that bottled up for a really long time, and he just couldn't hold it in anymore. he was slightly explosive at times. "* sorry, i'm sorry, i'll just. . . go??"

thomas stared for a moment. maybe... he didn't want to be affiliated with royalty, maybe he wouldn't prod for thomas's secret. "it's fine, devon," he said soothingly. "stay. it's just, some royalty, one wrong word and-" he said, making an 'off-with-his-head' gesture.

"Yeah, i guess, but i mean, i'm sorry, i just . . . had that all holed up inside. sorry," he muttered, still terribly embarrassed. "i get you though. its not your fault, im just . . . i dont know." sick of life? pretty sad and frustrated with himself? yup. afraid of the disappointment on his parents face when they realized he'd been gone the entire queenstrial? that too. afraid and sad and frustrated that he wasn't interested in any of the possible queens and not really in having a queen at all? definitely. "* i'm a mess," he thought.

Sapphire smiled at him. "I'm from House Zaphtos," she said to his previous question. (She's a teleporter. I made uo the house name). She could've participated in Queenstrial, but she hadn't wanted to.

he gave a half-hearted smile and shrugged, feeling guilt tug in his gut. he felt horrible, he knew he was disappointing his parents by not being there. he just . . couldn't stand being there.

The little girl had been watching the whole time, but didn't want to bother them. But now that there was a break in the conversation, she thought 'sure, what the heck' and walked forward. "Hi," she said softly, standing a little ways from the group.
