The girl dipped her brush in a small can of yellow paint and slathered it across her blank canvas with delicate, artful strokes. Once the whole thing was covered in paint, she grabbed a new brush, dipped it in red, and began brushing it over the yellow. Her red hair hung in a long ponytail behind her, and a long, paint spotted apron covered her clothes. Every once in a while she would look up at the sky with a faint smile before returning to her work.

Annie approached the girl quietly. "That's lovely," she said quietly, admiring the painting. She held a frame of embroidery in her hand, stitching the likeness of a bird.

She spun around quickly. She had been so focused on her painting that she hadn't even heard the girl come up. She smiled. "Thanks," she said, then, gesturing to the embroidered fabric, said "so is that." She set her brush down carefully on the edge of the easel and stuck out her hand to the girl. "I'm Scarlet."

She blushed slightly at the compliment. "Thanks. I'm Annie," she said, gently shaking the girl's hand.

Scarlet smiled. "So, Annie, are you an embroiderer's apprentice?" she asked.

"Cool," she said, nodding. "I'm an artist's apprentice, as you might have guessed," she said with a smile, gesturing towards all her painting equipment.

"Nice to meet you Molly, I'm Scarlet," she said, crouching so she was closer to the girl's height. Scarlet LOVED kids: she didn't really like anyone else. "Molly, can you help me with my painting? I'm not sure what to do next." She did actually have a few ideas, but she wanted to let Molly have a go.

"those are pretty names," she said sweetly, before gasping at the offer, her heterochromatic eyes lighting up. "oh yes please!" she said happily, then looked at the painting. "you should put a princess in a tower there," she gestured to the bottom right up to about halfway along the side.

"Can you help me do that? I'm not sure how to make a princess tower," she said with a smile, offering Molly her spare brush.
